The second annual Rube Goldberg Machine Contest is less than a week away! All of our competing teams have been working hard over the last couple of months to build the best and most entertaining machines for everyone at Cal Day to enjoy. Don’t miss out on the chance to see who has the most intricate and complicated steps to water a plant!

As mentioned, the event will take place on Cal Day, April 16, from 7-11pm in the Pauley Ballroom. We will be having judges from various companies including CalTrans, Sandia National Labs, Kiewit, Hitachi Consulting, and Intel, and Berkeley professors and lecturers from the IEOR, EECS, and BioE departments. Lastly, we would like to recognize all of the financial contributors of our event and give a special thank you to Lockheed Martin, Intel, ASUC, and the College of Engineering. We appreciate their support in helping us make this event possible!

One of the goals Theta Tau has for bringing the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest to Berkeley is to unite Cal’s engineering student body and to promote innovative and intellectually stimulating interactions between engineers and the rest of the Berkeley community.

We as students are busy studying and working on endless problem sets and projects week after week. Through the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest, we hope to provide both a fun and rewarding outlet as well as a growing experience for all those involved.

However, we require funding in order to put on this event and to make it an especially awarding experience for all those involved. Thus we seek your support at the Senate FiComm Meeting this coming Monday, 3/29 in the Senate Chambers of Eshleman Hall. The meeting starts at 9PM (and can go on quite late, so bring work)!
